Crisis

The monsoon floods of December 2014 – January 2015 were the worst to hit the country in over four decades. Four states in northeastern Peninsular Malaysia were affected, including parts of Sabah and Sarawak, in Borneo, causing displacement of over 200,000 people.

Campaign

A Malaysia-based campaign was initiated to provide free flights and cargo transportation for relief workers and emergency aid. In the second phase of the campaign, fund-raising was undertaken by AirAsia Berhad and AirAsia X Berhad.

  • Sponsored flights and cargo transportation
  • Donation boxes onboard all AirAsia Berhad and AirAsia X Berhad flights and at AirAsia airport counters in Malaysia
  • Fund-raising website at airasiafoundation.com
